Over the last five years I have been reading a number of books that outline how plants feel. communicate, provide, protect and proliferate.  Upon reading that a tree only ever generates one tree that makes it to full maturity and that it is only mature trees that are able to sequester carbon at the rate this planet requires, I have become extremely empathetic towards trees and other plant species.  Aligning with others who understand how botanical bio-diversity and the planting and protection of existing trees is integral for human survival, I have taken up Natasha Myers call to artists to listen, think with and work with plants so as to help creative more equitable and livable worlds.
